The Fourth Annual Raw Science Film Festival, January 5-7, 2018 in Santa Barbara, CA
The Raw Science Film Festival honors the best media centered on science and technology from around the world. The Rosalind Franklin Society is not only a sponsor of the event, but will have speaker on the agenda, be part of a panel on women in science, and will introduce an award for a female robotics team from Afghanistan.
This "Bridge between Science and Media" will honor luminaries and celebrities in science, technology, media, and entertainment, as well as showcase best-in-class films. Attendees can take part in workshops, visit exhibits, hear from speakers at the forefront of popular culture, network, and more! The culmination of the three-day event is a black-tie red-carpet awards ceremony on Saturday, January 6 at the Libero Theater in Santa Barbara, CA. The 100th birthday of Sir Arthur C. Clarke will be celebrated with inspiring experts on interstellar travel, human longevity, scalable healthcare, the ethics of space travel, and lunar colonization.
